Wolfgang Mozart Was Born In Salzburg, Austria In January

Wolfgang Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria in January 27, 1756. He was a prolific and influential composer of the classical era. Mozart at a young age displayed a prodigious ability to compose music. He wrote his first symphony at age eight and had the ability to listen to music and replay it after only hearing it once. Although Wolfgang Mozart is one of the greatest minds the world has ever seen, like others he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. According to the American Psychological Association (2000), â€Å"Autism is the most severe developmental disability. Appearing within the first three years of life, autism involves impairments in social interaction — such as being aware of other people’s feelings — and verbal and†¦show more content†¦Although ASD affects a lot of aspects of a person’s life some people with this disorder are extremely intelligent. Some people with ASD are called savants because they succeed in a particular a rea such as music or art. On the other hand some ASD patients are slow to gain knowledge or skills. Wolfgang Mozart exhibited many of these symptoms and years after his death he was diagnosed with ASD. According to Christina Garabedian (2010), Mozart repeated facial expressions, constantly moved his hands and feet, had a tendency of jumping of things, and had auditory and motor fits. The fits he had were later diagnosed as Tourette s syndrome. Reports have shown that one time during one of improvisations he became bored and unexpectedly hurdled over tables (Garabedian, 2010). Also according to Karoline Pichler a daughter of musician Frank Von Greiner said he could not carry on in any sort of intellectual magnitude (Garabedian, 2010).
